Black Walking Stick Umbrella

Another fantastic addition to our range of quality umbrellas is the Black Walking Stick Umbrella. You’re probably thinking “Sounds great, an umbrella you can use as a walking stick but what happens when it rains? Surely you can’t use it as a walking stick and an umbrella at the same time?” Good point, but actually please read on and you’ll find we have that covered.

Simply open the walking stick umbrella to reveal a recessed chrome button. Press that button to release the walking stick, leaving you with a strong, light, 8-panel umbrella (overall length approx 70 cm). When the rain stops, you slide the walking stick into the umbrella shaft, click it back into position and close the umbrella. It’s as quick and easy as that!

The brolly features a steel frame with individually sprung stretchers, black fibreglass spokes (ribs) which are light, strong and flexible. They have rounded metal spoke tips and the canopy width is 94 cm / 37 inches (approx.).

The umbrella has a sturdy black steel umbrella shaft and walking stick with an ergonomic, rubberized, “pistol grip” handle. It has a straight/vertical carry weight of up to 80 kg. It has a detachable stick, 85 cm long. The overall length (with a walking stick), including that very chunky black rubber ferrule, is 90 cm (35 inches). Total product weight 400 g approx.

Some years ago I bought one of these Walking Stick Umbrellas (before I needed it!) and used it ‘in anger’ later on when I’d damaged my leg muscles. Subsequently, the little ball bearing which, on that model, retained the walking stick, shot out so I had to use gaffer tape to hold it together. I used it for ages until leaving it somewhere by mistake. 🙁
This new model seems to have a better sprung push button to release the stick and I expect it to last longer.
I’m pleased to find a replacement and would recommend it as it’s a handy way to carry a walking stick and still have the use of the umbrella – not possible with any other model I’ve found. The length of the stick is not adjustable, but hey! you can’t have everything unless you had a telescopic stick (which probably would not be as strong). Recommended.
